What oil filter does a gyroplane engine use?
A spin-on cartridge filter, the same basic format used on countless small engines, but built to the specific bypass pressure and flow rate the engine manufacturer specifies. Rotax publishes a genuine part number for its 912 and 914 series, and substituting an uncertified automotive filter is a documented cause of oil pressure problems.
