AutoGyro

AutoGyro is based at Hildesheim in Lower Saxony, Germany. Its company page traces the business to two people rather than a founding certificate: "In 2003 Thomas Kiggen, a flight instructor from Höxter, and Michael Ullrich wanted to fly gyroplanes in Germany, but none were approved at that time." The present company came later - "In 2007 the success of the company meant that it had to become a full German GmbH". AutoGyro states that more than 3,200 German-built aircraft have flown since 2003, and that it has a presence in over 40 countries.

The published range rests on three airframes. The Cavalon is the enclosed side-by-side two-seater. The Calidus is the enclosed tandem. The MTOsport 2017 is the open tandem, and is the only one of the three whose page publishes a climb rate. Around each airframe AutoGyro lists mission variants - Sentinel, Pro, Amphib, NCA, GyroMotion, and the agricultural and survey fits - which change equipment rather than the published airframe figures, and so are not carried here as separate models.

All three platforms are offered with Rotax powerplants and a rotor published in three lengths, 8.4, 8.6 or 8.8 metres. AutoGyro lists compliance for each airframe against BUT (Germany), Section T (UK), ASRA (Australia), CCAR-21 (China) and the USA Primary and Experimental categories.

Figures below are reproduced exactly as AutoGyro publishes them, including the bracketed imperial conversions the manufacturer supplies itself. Where the manufacturer does not publish a figure, this site does not carry one: there is no never-exceed speed for the MTOsport 2017 and no climb rate for the Cavalon or Calidus, because those pages do not state them.
