Gyroplane Knowledge Quiz
Drawn at random from our question bank. Every answer links to the page it came from, so you can check our working.
What this covers
Terminology and mechanism. How a rotor keeps turning without an engine, what the words in a listing mean, what a lender or an inspector is looking at. The questions come from our glossary and reference articles, and each one links back to the page that answers it.
- How it flies 30
- Buying and owning 21
- The machine 17
- Flying it 6
- Using this site 2
What it is not
This is not checkride preparation and it is not aligned to any national syllabus. There are no questions on rotor speed limits, V-speeds, weight limits, licensing, medical requirements or emergency procedures, because all of those are specific to your aircraft type and your country, and we will not publish a number that somebody might carry into a cockpit.
Your aircraft flight manual and an instructor rated on your type are the authorities for any of that. Our training directory lists schools by country.
Why every answer is linked
A quiz asserts that one answer is right. On a site about aircraft, an assertion nobody can trace is worse than no quiz at all, so a question cannot enter the bank without pointing at the page that justifies it. If you think we have marked something wrongly, the link is right there and we would rather be corrected than consistent.
The bank is in the dozens rather than the hundreds for the same reason. We could pad it out. We would have to make things up to do it.
