How is a gyroplane engine cooled?
On the Rotax 912 and 914 series, a hybrid of both: the cylinder heads are liquid-cooled through a small radiator and coolant loop, while the cylinders themselves are cooled directly by ram air. It is a distinctive design choice, not a compromise, allowing tighter tolerances and more power than a fully air-cooled engine of the same weight.
That is the whole entry for now. The longer version, with the mechanics and worked examples, is still to be written. See autorotation for how those read once they exist.
