What ignition system does a gyroplane engine use?

A dual electronic ignition, two independent capacitor discharge modules each firing its own set of spark plugs. It is a redundancy feature, not a performance one: either circuit alone can keep the engine running if the other fails. Standard on every Rotax engine used in this fleet.
