What engine brand do gyroplanes use?
Rotax, an Austrian manufacturer, powers every model published on our manufacturer directory today. It was not always the standard. Early homebuilt Bensen-style gyrocopters commonly ran a McCulloch engine, and some American kit designs use Lycoming or Continental engines built for fixed-wing aircraft instead. Confirm the actual engine fitted to any specific aircraft instead of assuming it from the airframe brand.

That is the whole entry for now. The longer version, with the mechanics and worked examples, is still to be written. See autorotation for how those read once they exist.
