Kit or factory-built, and what that does not tell you

The label says what the company sells: a kit you assemble, a complete aircraft, or both. It is a commercial fact and we record it from what the manufacturer publishes. Twenty of the twenty four here say "not recorded", which means we have not sourced it yet rather than that the answer is complicated.

It is deliberately not an approval or airworthiness status. Those belong to an individual airframe and the country it is registered in, not to the company that built it. The same factory-built aircraft can be certified in Europe and registered as Experimental in the United States, so a badge on the manufacturer would be wrong in one country or the other. What governs a particular aircraft is on its own paperwork, and your national authority is the only source that counts.
