What is ADS-B In?

Receiving free traffic and weather data broadcast over the same ADS-B system, through a panel-mounted or portable receiver. Unlike ADS-B Out, it is not mandated equipment anywhere in US airspace. It is a safety and convenience option a pilot can add on top of whatever the aircraft is required to carry.
